First Congregational Church of Rockport, MA
he church has only three parking spaces, all of which are reserved for church staff and should not be used by the congregation or by visitors.  These spaces may be used for pickup and drop-off during Old Sloop Coffeehouse performances, the Old Sloop Fair and other such occasions.  They are accessed by the driveway off School St. that is directly across from Stone Barn Lane, next to the church's Law Building.  Please note that the driveway and parking area are shared with our neighbors.  Please do not block the driveway, please park only on  the church side of the parking area, and please be respectful of our neighbors!
  • There are parking kiosks that accept quarters and credit/debit cards on School Street, Main Street and some other downtown streets. There are meters that accept quarters on Boradway, but the word is these will soon change to kisosks. Rates and time limits vary. The spaces nearest the church cost $1.00 per hour, have a 4 hour limit, and are checked 7 days a week from 10:00AM until 6:00 pm. The paid spaces are almost always occupied in the summer when the weather is good. There are almost always spaces available Sunday mornings, and the Rockport police do not currently issue parking tickets while worship services are in progress at the downtown churches.
  • There is free parking on the streets just out of the downtown area on School Street, Main Street, High Street, and others. Many of these spaces are a short walk from the church. These spaces are also in high demand at peak tourist times.
  • There is parking for Rockport residents on T Wharf and in the lot near Town Hall just off Broadway, both of which are a short walk from the church. Do not park in resident-only areas unless your car bears a Rockport parking sticker. The Rockport police are zealous about defending resident-only parking for town residents.
  • Rockport offers a Park ‘n Ride service during the busiest times of the year. The Park ‘n Ride lot is adjacent to the transfer station on upper Main Street, about a mile from the downtown. Parking is free, and the Cape Ann Transportation Authority offers an inexpensive shuttle service between the Park ‘n Ride lot and the downtown. See details here.
